One of Africa’s finest musicians Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna boy has received a Grammy Awards nomination with his ‘African Giant’ Album
Burna Boy’s ‘African Giant’ album was nominated in the ‘Best World Music’ category among ‘Gece’ by Altin Gun, ‘What Heat’ by Bokante and Metropole Orkest, ‘Fanm D’ayiti’ by Nathalie Joachim and ‘Celia’ by Angelique Kidjo.
Speaking with Grammy.com about the vision for the album back in August, the artist said: “My vision is just to shine a light on a place and on people and a situation and everything that there hasn’t been light on for a long time.”
Burna Boy’s nomination was received with delight from many Africans who expressed their joy via various social media platforms.
Artistes such as Shatta Wale, Davido, Wizkid, Patoranking, Olamide, Michael Dapaah, Zlatan, Banky W among others expressed their joy and congratulated Burna Boy on his nomination via their official twitter handles.
