An Accra Circuit Court has remanded a Businessman Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu into custody for allegedly threatening to harm Gospel Musician Ohemaa Mercy who he claims owes him 8,500 cedis.

The accused had been working as a marketer for Ohemaa Mercy since 2021 until he sent video footage to the gospel musician informing her of his decision to quit working with her. Between July and September, Asiedu sent audio recordings demanding the money and threatening the musician.

Last August 30, the accused threatened Ohemaa Mercy that he was giving her up to 6pm the same day to pay, or else he would organize his boys to come after her. He also made comments on social media in a bid to put fear in the musician. This prompted Ohemaa Mercy to lodge a complaint with the Police.

The accused was invited to assist in investigations but refused to honour it. He was tracked by the Police and arrested last Wednesday, September 18th.
