Ghanaian comedian Putogo Mowsis has stated that comedy is a therapy that relieves psychological stress.
Putogo made this statement in an interview with Nation 1 TV on Saturday, May 28, at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) hall, where he held his first comedy show titled “Everything is Funny “.
In an interview, Putogo explained that the rationale for the show was to crack jokes on topics Ghanaians would not talk about and also to release stress since, to him, comedy is therapy.
He described his journey as a comedian as stressful, but he deems it worthwhile. He was quick to acknowledge and commend Ghanaians for showing him so much throughout the journey.
Also, he showed appreciation to corporate bodies for showing massive support to the comedy industry and called on other investors to come on board to help the industry grow.
Again, he lauded the media for granting him and Ghanaian comedians interviews, saying that by so doing, they are being put in the spotlight for the public to see them.
On what lies ahead for him in the future, he said his ambition is to put Ghana on the global map through comedy. He showed his confidence in the Ghanaian comedians, saying that they can push themselves internationally and appear on global platforms.
Finally, he advised people who are funny not to be shy about displaying their talents. He said people who have the craft of making people laugh should reach out to him. He pledged to support such people in exhibiting their talents.
