Ghanaian Gospel musician Diana Hamilton has opened up about her songwriting process, reliance on faith, and the life lessons she has learned over the years.

Speaking on the GTV breakfast show on February 10, 2025, she explained that she doesn’t intentionally sit down to write a song daily but constantly prays for God to provide a message, a song, and the right people to bring the song to life. According to her, she depends on her voice, mind, and the collaborative efforts of others.

Hamilton emphasised the importance of divine intervention in her creative process, stating, “But if God brings me the right people my way, whatever we have in our vision, in our minds we are able to bring it to finishing, and that’s what we pray to God for.”

Reflecting on her spiritual journey, Hamilton shared, “I think I have walked with God to a point where I am not fully there, but I know he is God.”

She added that time has taught her that even in the most difficult times, she is nearing the finish line, trusting in God’s promise not to burden her beyond her capacity.

Hamilton said time taught her patience, to take things one at a time, not to rush, and to wait so it doesn’t get overwhelming and it comes to her one at a time.

She further touched on balancing her career with personal life events such as marriage and motherhood, noting that she had to adjust to marriage and singing, and then the kids came in, so when it all came together, she was able to manage all of that.

The 2021 VGMA Artiste of the Year added that she prays for God to make her a jack of all trades and master of all, trusting God to help her succeed in those areas.
