Since winning the ultimate prize in TV3’s Talented Kidz in 2017, Erica Armah Bra-Bulu Tandoh, popularly known as DJ Switch has been receiving a lot of awards for her works.
In October last year, TV3, on whose platform she was discovered, put her on its “Wall of Fame” and she has earned some recognition from the US.
The 11-year-old has been honoured by Jay Z’s Roc Nation as part of their Black History Month celebration this year.
Taking to their social media, the company wrote:
“Today we honor DJ Erica Tandoh, @djswitchghana, a 10 yr old who is the youngest recipient to win the Ghana DJ Awards. She gets everyone on their feet dancing & in a good mood. “I picked the name DJ Switch because I switch up people’s happiness” – Erica Tandoh. #BlackHistoryMonth,” the tweet said.
The young celebrity shot to fame with her skills on the turntables which won her the top prize on Talented Kidz. She became the youngest recipient at the Ghana DJ Awards when she won the Discovery DJ of the Year award last year.
At age 11, some children can only dream of attaining big things in future but it appears the young girl is already living the life.
She was one of the performers at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s Goalkeepers Summit in New York, USA, last year where she performed for a number of dignitaries including the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.
The latest recognition is expected to boost her image as an emerging brand in Ghana’s entertainment industry and beyond.
