The Member of Parliament for Ketu South Constituency, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has been appointed as the Minister-designate for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts by President John Dramani Mahama.

This appointment was announced on Thursday, January 16, 2025.

Abla Gomashie is a renowned Ghanaian actress, film producer, and politician with extensive experience in the creative industry. She previously served as the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts during Mahama’s administration.

As the current Member of Parliament for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ketu South constituency, Hon. Gomashie holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (First Class) and an MPhil in African Studies from the University of Ghana.

Known for her commitment and passion for the creative arts, Gomashie’s return has been eagerly anticipated by fans and lovers of Ghanaian creativity. Many believe that this appointment demonstrates the government’s commitment to boosting Ghana’s creative and cultural sectors.
