At its recently organized 23rd Awards, GBC’s Peggy Ama Donkor won the Best in Television Features, with her story titled; ”Phones, the new cigarettes of the 21st Century”.
The Awards Committee concluded that Peggy’s story creatively used video to enhance the written word with compelling visuals and sound bites. She took viewers on a journey from landlines and telephone booths to today’s pervasive use of mobile phones and digital gadgets.
Furthermore, her story provided the appropriate data to drive home her point. The Committee described Peggy’s work as an excellent job! and said her dexterous use of analogy, which compares cigarette addiction, told a compelling story.
Peggy has won more than 10 GJA Awards including the Overall Journalist of the Year Award, which she picked in 2005. Peggy describes herself as an Award winning Broadcast Journalist with substantial experience of news production, script editing and broadcast management.
]Also a competent Public relations expert skilled at ”building productive relationship with the public’s and colleagues”.
Peggy has been working with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, GBC since 1999. She is currently a Manager(Chief Editor), doing a lot of production work(behind the scenes), for shows like; ”Talking Point, This Week, Regional Diary, among others.
