The Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia says that government remains committed in supporting communities to help project the rich and diversified cultural heritage of the people to help boost tourism, which is the fourth income earner in the country.
According to Vice President Dr. Bawumia, festivals are one of the potential means of attracting investment , generate employment and revenue for many country’s all over the world.
The Vice President said this when he joined the chiefs and people of the oguaa traditional area in Cape Coast to celebrate their Annual fetu afashye, which premised on the theme:, “Restoration of our heritage;, Key to tourism development.”
Fetu Afahye is an annual festival celebrated by the people and chiefs of Cape Coast. Dr. Bawumia used the occasion to affirm government’s resolve to empower her citizens through quality education.
He therefore entreated Ghanaians to embrace the double track system, which is an innovation to help absorb more children into schools as the numbers keeps increasing.
