Jambo Spaces, Ghana’s first digital creator hub and incubator, has been awarded a €20,000 Euros grant from the Creation Africa Ghana (CAG) initiative. This program, organized by the French Embassy in Ghana, supports entrepreneurs in the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs), aiming to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and job creation in Ghana by equipping participants with essential skills and resources through intensive training, mentorship, and networking.

Launched last year, the CAG program received 608 applications from various creative sectors, including fashion, culinary arts, photography, music, and literature. After a rigorous selection process involving an intensive boot camp and pitching sessions, Jambo Spaces emerged as one of the 15 beneficiaries out of 30 finalists.

The founders of Jambo Spaces, Bernard Kafui Sokpe, Therese Jones, and Natasha Mann-Dedey, expressed their gratitude and enthusiasm, highlighting that the grant will be used to launch significant projects such as the Africa Digital Creator Academy and to invest in advanced equipment for content creation. The Africa Digital Creator Academy is envisioned to be the first-ever official content creator academy in West Africa, aiming to train and mentor aspiring digital creators.

At the prize presentation, French Ambassador to Ghana, Jules-Armand Aniambossou, emphasized the importance of this program in building a new partnership between France and Ghana. He reiterated the commitment of the French Embassy to nurturing entrepreneurial talents and fostering sustainable job creation.

Jambo Spaces has been instrumental in providing a collaborative environment for creatives in Accra. The hub offers facilities like co-working spaces, event venues, and studios for musicians and podcasters, as well as additional resources for creators to monetize their work. This grant marks a pivotal milestone in Jambo Spaces’ mission to empower African creatives and enhance their global competitiveness.

With this new funding, Jambo Spaces is set to elevate its impact on the creative industry in Ghana and across West Africa, providing vital support and opportunities for digital creators to thrive.
