Ghana’s leading fashion and culture event, Rhythms On Da Runway, returned on Saturday, November 30, 2024, with its much-anticipated Kente Edition.

Held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre, the show celebrated the beauty and heritage of Ghana’s iconic fabric, Kente, through fashion, music, and culture.

The evening began with a lively green carpet session, where guests dressed to impress, many showcasing stunning Kente-inspired designs.

Attendees networked, took photos, and enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere before the main event began.

The show opened with a high-energy performance from rapper Edem, who wowed the audience in a striking pink outfit. His electrifying act set the tone for a night of unforgettable moments.

Hosts Jerry Adjorlolo and AJ Akuoko Sarpong guided the audience through an exciting lineup of activities.

The highlight of the evening was the runway, where more than 50 models and celebrities showcased creative designs featuring Kente.

Top Ghanaian designers, including Nadiaka, Odefille, Ophelia Crossland, Velma’s Millinery, Selina Beb, and Kustom Look Clothier, unveiled collections that celebrated the fabric’s rich history and versatility.

The event also featured captivating musical performances from artistes such as Amandzeba, Nat Brew, Kwabena Kwabena, Michael Stuckey, and Bibie Brew.

A surprise appearance by VGMA Artiste of the Year, Stonebwoy, thrilled the crowd.

He used the platform to call for peace ahead of Ghana’s 2024 elections, saying, “After the elections, Ghana must win. I love my peace.”

As part of the celebrations, several icons of the creative arts industry were honoured for their contributions. These included Agya Koo Nimo, Chief Dele Momodu, Bibie Brew, and Kwabena Kwabena, who were applauded for their work in promoting Ghanaian culture.

The event drew prominent figures, including Nana Ama McBrown, Akofa Edjeani Asiedu, Paulina Oduro, and Adina, who added glamour to the night.

This year’s Kente Edition highlighted the importance of preserving Ghana’s cultural heritage while showcasing the creative potential of the fashion industry. Kente, a symbol of national pride, took center stage as a fabric of unity and innovation.

Rhythms On Da Runway 2024 was more than a fashion show. It was a celebration of Ghana’s identity and creativity, blending tradition and modernity in a way that inspired pride and unity.
