Renowned Ghanaian musician Kwabena Kwabena has revealed that his latest album is a fulfilment of a long-standing promise he made to God.
Speaking on the GTV Breakfast Show on February 7, 2025, the highlife singer shared the emotional journey behind his seventh studio album, which he dedicated entirely to his faith and gratitude to God.
According to Kwabena Kwabena, after the release of his debut album, he faced numerous challenges that made it difficult to record a second one. At a point, he felt hopeless about continuing his music career. However, after overcoming those struggles, he made a personal vow to God.
“I told God that if He helped me record up to six albums, I would dedicate my seventh album entirely to Him as a way of showing gratitude,” he shared. He drew inspiration from the biblical account of creation, where God rested on the seventh day after creating the universe.
True to his word, after successfully releasing six albums, Kwabena Kwabena embarked on recording his seventh studio album with the sole purpose of honouring his maker. He expressed joy at being able to fulfil his promise, emphasising how deeply meaningful this project is to him.
“You did good; you did good. I’m happy I’ve been able to fulfil it,” he said, reflecting on the journey.
