Mercy Little Smith, Ghanaian actress renowned for her iconic portrayal of ‘Benyiwaa’ in the popular television series Efiewura, has passed away.
The announcement of her passing was shared on the Efiewura TV series’ Facebook page on December 18, 2024, accompanied by the heartfelt message: “RIP Benyiwaa. She left the earth plane yesterday. Bye.”
Mercy Little Smith gained widespread acclaim for her remarkable portrayal of Benyiwaa, the clever and determined wife of Judge Koboo, in Efiewura. Her performance resonated with audiences across Ghana, securing her place as one of the most iconic figures in the history of local television drama.
Although the official cause of her death is yet to be confirmed, fans and the public have been expressing their condolences to the family of the late actress.
Kwame Dzokoto, her Efiewura co-star, shared an emotional tribute on Facebook, shedding light on her recent health challenges and the care she received during her final days.
