Parliament holds Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols 2019

The Parliament of Ghana on Wednesday night (December 18, 2019) held its 2019 Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at the Forecourt of Parliament, Osu in Accra.

The service was graced by the President of Ghana Nana Addo Danquah and his Vice, Members of Parliament, dignitaries and people from all walks of life.

Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle Constituency, Dr. Zanetor Rawlings and Member of Parliament for Assin North Constituency Abena Durowaa Mensah cheered the crowd with their beautiful voices where they sang Christmas carols.

Choir

There was a song ministration by five choirs; Voices of Democracy, Our lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Choir, Sowutuom, Asempa Choir Tema, Gbawe-McCarthy Hill Methodist church choir and the Ga West Presbytery choir.

They spiced up the evening as they sang melodious Christmas carols and gospel songs to the delight of the guests.

The programme was sponsored by GTP, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation and Christ Apostolic Church and was streamed live on GTV.

The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols is mostly celebrated by Christians on Christmas Eve where they sing Christmas carols, hymns, and choir anthems to remember and celebrate the birth of Jesus.
