Ghanaian Highlife Musician, Peter Famiyeh Bozah, popularly known as Fameye, has won the Songwriter of the Year award at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) ceremony.
He becomes the first musician to break Kofi Kinaata’s record. Kofi Kinaata is the only artistes to have won the Songwriter of the Year award four times.
However, Kofi Kinaata sent a congratulatory tweet to Fameye, celebrating him for the win.

Fameye won the award with his song ‘Praise’. He beat, five musicians namely Minister OJ, Abiana, Kofi Kinaata, Akwaboah and Diana Hamilton to win the award.
The ‘Nothing I Get’ hitmaker has evolved into a sensational artiste with international appeal ever since winning VGMA’s Best New Artiste of the Year in 2020.
Known for his incredible songwriting skills and vocals, I am not surprised he has won this year’s Songwriter of the year.
The 23rd Edition of the prestigious Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA23), Day 1 was held at the Accra International Conference Center on Friday, May 6, 2022.
The event was hosted by Ghanaian rapper, Edem, and AJ Sarpong which saw amazing performances from Perez Musik, Celestine Donkor, Amerado, Kofi Kinaata, Samini, Wendy Shay and others.
