Years after Taylor Swift was thrust into an all-out war with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West after the rapper claimed he got her permission for his Famous line about her, it’s all happening again.
You know, the one where he said the two might still have sex, and that he ‘made that bitch famous’.
How could you forget? For a little refresher: in 2016, Taylor said she didn’t know he was going to say those lines, but then Kim dropped the bomb when she released a clip of Ye on the phone to T-Swizzle where she said the line about having sex was cool.
Granted she wasn’t on tape talking with Kanye about the ‘made that bitch famous’ line, and she did evidently find a lot of trouble with that one.
Then, because it seemed the smart thing to do for Kim, she declared the holiday ‘National Snake Day’ and basically everyone on the internet joined in by bullying Taylor.
Now the Reputation singer has reignited the feud, perhaps, by addressing it in a recent essay speaking about bullies.
‘In my experience, I’ve come to see that bullies want to be feared and taken seriously,’ she wrote for Elle US. ‘A few years ago, someone started an online hate campaign by calling me a snake on the internet. The fact that so many people jumped on board with it led me to feeling lower than I’ve ever felt in my life.’
Not naming names – she’s classy like that – it’s clear the person she’s referring to is Kim. Unless someone else started that campaign and Kimmy is taking the credit… Anyway, Taylor definitely reclaimed the term, as she basically branded her whole Reputation tour with the reptile.
‘I can’t tell you how hard I had to keep from laughing every time my 63-foot inflatable cobra, named Karyn, appeared onstage in front of 60,000 screaming fans,’ she continued. ‘It’s the Stadium Tour equivalent of responding to a troll’s hateful Instagram comment with “lol”.’
Still, the singer is pretty keen on a proper apology, as she added: ‘It would be nice if we could get an apology from people who bully us, but maybe all I’ll ever get is the satisfaction of knowing I could survive it, and thrive in spite of it.’
