Renowned relationship coach, Rev. Dr. Nana Yaa Prempeh, has lamented that true love is not driven by financial gain, but rather by understanding, trust, and full disclosure.
Speaking on GTV’s breakfast show on Friday, January 17, 2025, Rev. Dr. Prempeh stated that while money can contribute to happiness in marriage, it is not the foundation of true love.
“Money is an addition, it’s a bonus, Love does not exist because of money. True love does not exist because of money,” she said.
Rev. Dr. Prempeh shared her personal experience, recalling the early days of her marriage when she and her husband had limited financial resources.
“We had a mattress and we slept on the floor for years. There was no bed, there was no furniture, But we understood each other,” she said.
She emphasized the importance of full disclosure in relationships, stating that it helps build confidence and trust.
“Full disclosure in a relationship really turns away all the negatives that the third party will be bringing into the relationship,” she explained.
Rev. Dr. Prempeh also advised women to look beyond a man’s current financial situation and consider his potential for growth and success.
“If the person doesn’t have money, he has a degree. He has a certificate. He has a license. He has a skill. He has a trade. He has a vocation. He’s good to go. Today, he has no money. Tomorrow, he may be the next Bill Gates of Ghana,” she said.
In conclusion, Rev. Dr. Prempeh stressed that the best partner is someone who thinks deeply and is a problem-solver.
“The best man you can have for a spouse is a man who is a deep thinker. He thinks, he gets ideas. He waits on God. He gets ideas. You can make millions,” she advised.
