Ghanaians advised to purchase chocolate

The Deputy Secretary of People’s National Convention (PNC), Haruna Mohammed says Ghanaians should have the habit of buying chocolate on daily basis.

’’We should not be seen waiting until chocolate day where every Ghanaian will be rushing to acquire chocolate but should be seen as a habit.”

He said this while speaking on GBC’s Weekly Press Review programme Friday, February 14.

The Deputy General Secretary of PNC noted that basically, National chocolate day was instituted for the Ghanaian public to appreciate what we produce as a country especially the cocoa industry.

He advised Ghanaians to purchase chocolate in other to assist government in the idea of celebrating Chocolate Day.

“When you buy it, you are creating employment,’’ he added.

National chocolate day was established in 2005 to accord with Valentine’s Day which falls on February 14 annually.

It was instituted to increase the consumption of chocolate made in Ghana, other cocoa based products, promote domestic tourism and give a healthy orientation to the celebration of Valentine’s Day in Ghana.
