As Ghana elects new leaders in 2024, citizens hope for more than just campaign promises. Some Ghanaians want their voices heard, especially those in neglected regions. Electoral glitches worry them, but most fear political mudslinging and empty promises.

Ghanaians crave peace, basic necessities like electricity and water, and an end to corruption. They called for leaders who deliver on their words, fix the struggling economy, and support teachers.

2024 is obviously an election year in Ghana.

GBC News interview with a cross-section of the people revealed that the people “want leaders who respond to their needs.”

Interestingly, they are hoping for promises from politicians to be operationalized into development.

“So, as we celebrate the new year tonight, let’s think about Ghana,” one Senior Citizen intimated.

Ghana’s democracy is an envy, at least in the subregion.

Political watchers are optimistic that, together as a people, Ghanaians will emerge victorious in the 2024 General Election.
