Construction of cocoa roads under the sponsorship of the Ghana Cocoa Board will resume this year.
Resumption of the project, which was halted in 2017, has now become necessary following a comprehensive review of the modalities for the selection of the roads for classification under the cocoa roads project.
The review of the cocoa road projects was done in collaboration with the various District Assemblies, now the selection agencies, to upgrade deplorable feeder roads that connect cocoa growing communities to marketing centres.
The Acting Executive Director of the Seed Production Division of COCOBOD, Reverend Dr. Emmanuel Clottey, disclosed this at a meeting between COCOBOD and Executives of the Ghana Agriculture and Rural Development Journalists’ Association (GARDJA) at Cocoa House in Accra.
