A Senior Lecturer at the Ghana School of Law and Executive Secretary of the National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Right and Family Values, Moses Foh-Amoaning says the introduction of the Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE), programme should not be rushed without broad stakeholder consultation.

He said the CSE curriculum must be designed by Ghanaian scholars and other stakeholders in education to reflect local cultural setting and satisfaction.

Speaking on GBC’s current affairs programme ‘Talking Point’ on GTV, Mr Foh-Amoaning said the CSE programme is being dictated by the Western World and though it is being projected as good, there is a hidden agenda to make LGBT institutionalised in Ghana.

This, he said, must not be countenanced.

A Lecturer at the University of Professional Studies, UPSA, Dr. Ummu Markwei however, said people should rather look at the CSE programme from the perspective of empowering the children to know more about all forms of sexual abuse so they can protect themselves or avoid it.

She said CSE promotes healthy sexual rights and the respect of other people’s sexuality.

Executive Secretary of the National Council for Curriculum Assessment, NACCA, Dr Prince Hamid Armah, said the CSE has nothing to do with the introduction of LGBT in the country as some people are speculating.

He said CSE will definitely be in line with Ghanaian cultural values.
