The Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU) is happy with government’s reinstatement of the Vice Chancellor of KNUST, Professor Obiri Danso.
They also expressed gratitude to government for wanting to constitute a new governing Council by Friday November 2.
Speaking on Uniiq FM’s news and current affairs programme, ‘Behind the News’ the Chairman of TEWU, KNUST Branch, Charles Arthur, said government did not do due diligence when it dissolved the previous Governing Council.
TEWU has also rescinded its decision to demonstrate everyday.
Meanwhile, the University Teachers Association (UTAG), has expressed joy at government’s directive reinstating the Governing Council. UTAG described government’s intervention as a sign of maturity.
President of UTAG Eric Opoku Mensah was optimistic about a roadmap to bring normalcy to the Kumasi-based premier institution of higher learning.
