36 year old labourer at Lashibi who stabbed neighbour granted bail

An Accra Circuit Court has granted bail of 50,000 with two sureties to be justified to a 36 year old labourer, Francis Lamptey for allegedly causing harm to one Ayuba Shaibu at Lashibi in Accra.

Narrating the facts to the Court, the Prosecutor Inspector Bright Acolatse said the complainant and the accused have not been on talking terms due to a previous misunderstanding between them.

 On the 25th of August 2024, at about 12:30pm the accused was passing by and saw the complainant standing infront of his house. The accused allgedly started casting insinuations and threatened to stab the complainant if he dared him.

This resulted in a heated argument between the two and in the cause of the confrontation the accused allegedly pulled a knife from a bucket he was holding and stabbed the complainant on his left cheek resulting in profuse bleeding. 

The accused attempted escaping but was captured by some neighbours and handed over to the Police.

 During investigations the accused allegedly admitted to the offence before an independent witness. 

He is expected back in Court on October 7 , 2024.
