Suspect, Daniel Owusu Koranteng, has been charged with abetment and murder in connection with the killing of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale. State prosecutors presented the new charges in court on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
According to Chief Inspector Nana Afua Bamfo, Koranteng allegedly led two other suspects, who are still at large, to Ahmed Suale’s home, where he was later shot and killed by unknown attackers. The prosecution believes Koranteng assisted these individuals in committing the crime.
The case dates back to June 2018 when the late journalist’s images were shown on Net2 TV by former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, who called for action against him. Investigations revealed that Ahmed Suale later confronted Koranteng via WhatsApp, accusing him of providing his photographs to the former MP, Kennedy Agyapong.
On January 16, 2019, after the images were made public, Ahmed Suale was shot and killed in Madina. The police report suggests that Koranteng, knowing the journalist’s home and hiding places, led the attackers to his location, resulting in his murder.
Koranteng’s lawyer, Kofi Essel Hackman, requested bail for his client, arguing that he had been in custody since March 12. However, the prosecution opposed the request, stating that investigations were ongoing and that granting bail could interfere with the case.
The court, presided over by Judge Susan Nyarkotey, denied the bail application and remanded Koranteng into custody, as he reappear in court on April 17, 2025.

what about the one who displayed his photos on TV. Is he above the law that he cannot be arrested to help in investigation? You continue to pursue weak vessels and afraid to touch on the giants.
This is the reason why we Ghanaian don’t trust Ghanas justice system.
