The Amedzofe Development Association, ADA, has urged the public to visit the town in the Volta region for this year’s Easter celebrations and experience the rich culture and numerous tourist attractions.
Speaking at the launch of the Amedzofe Easter celebrations in Accra, ADA Chairman, MacDonald Bubuamah, said Amedzofe is home to a variety of captivating tourist sites and activities, making it an ideal destination for this year’s Easter.
He encouraged Ghanaians to come and explore the unique beauty and culture of the area during this festive season.
The annual event, organized by the ADA in collaboration with the Amedzofe Easter Planning and Organizing Community, has themed this year’s celebration “A Call for Unity and Development,”.

The launch which was attended by chiefs, elders, queen mothers, and other dignitaries, highlighted the importance of community cooperation and progress. With a week of activities planned, the celebration promises to showcase Amedzofe’s vibrant culture through traditional dances, singing, drumming and visits to tourist sites.
The celebration is designed not only to foster unity among the people of Amedzofe but also to raise awareness and generate excitement around key community development initiatives. The week-long Easter event, which has each day dedicated to different activity, is set to reinforce cultural exchange and ensure that the Amedzofe community continues to thrive through collective efforts and shared development goals.
Chairman of Amedzofe Development Association, MacDonald Bubuamah, highlighted the significance of Easter celebrations saying it is a period of forgiveness, repentance and reconciling with Lord Jesus Christ.
“Easter in our Ghanaian enclave is a period of homecoming to meet families, to meet citizens to reunite and reconcile with them. It’s time for homecoming and goes beyond family meetings. Many communities use Easter to raise funds for their developmental programs, where as some other communities use it to visit many of their tourist areas”, he added.
Mr. Bubuamah called on the public to come join this year’s Easter celebration in order to witness the rich culture and tourist attractions Amedzofe has to offer.
“The Easter celebration at Amedzofe is a unique one. Amedzofe is a tourism hub not only in Ghana, it is put on the radar of international communities. Amedzofe has got the longest canopy walk way in west Africa. Amedzofe is the highest human habitation in west Africa.
Amedzofe serves as the location of mountain Gemi, the second highest in Ghana. Amedzofe has one of the biggest waterfall known as Ote water falls where the canopy walkway is established. It therefore serves as unique tourist destination to people” he said.
A Businessman Albert Ameh, urged the people of Amedzofe as well all Ghanaians to maintain peace and unity, saying it is one of the core values of living in Harmony, “Peace should be our watchword because without peace, we can’t do anything. Without unity nothing can be done so I want peace and unity. By the time we are united there is nothing that we cannot do. So this very Easter, I pray that unity and peace should be our watch word” Mr Ameh emphasized.
