The Bono Regional Minister, Joseph Addae Akwaboa, has made a strong commitment to the youth of the region, assuring them of ample employment opportunities and a focus on development.

In a recent media engagement, he emphasised the region’s significant potential for job creation, particularly in sectors such as agriculture, tourism, and industrialisation.

“The Bono Region is blessed with immense potential for job creation. From agriculture to tourism, we have the resources to empower our youth and drive development. My administration is committed to unlocking these opportunities to ensure a brighter future for all,” he stated.

Despite his optimism, Akwaboa acknowledged several challenges that could impede progress. He raised concerns about ongoing chieftaincy disputes, which have historically caused tension in the region. “Chieftaincy matters remain a concern, but I assure you that peace will be maintained throughout my tenure. We are working closely with traditional leaders and stakeholders to ensure stability and unity,” he assured.

Additionally, the Minister addressed the pressing issues of poor road infrastructure and illegal mining activities that threaten the environment.

He vowed to confront these challenges directly, stating, “Illegal mining and chainsaw operations are destroying our environment and must be stopped. We are collaborating with security agencies to clamp down on these activities. Similarly, we are working to improve road infrastructure to boost connectivity and economic growth.”
