The High Court in Koforidua has confirmed Frank Annoh-Dompreh as the elected Member of Parliament for the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency.

‎The court, led by Justice Addae, dismissed a case that challenged Annoh-Dompreh’s election. The case was brought by the National Democratic Congress (NDC), which claimed that the election results were not correct and violated electoral laws.

‎The court accepted an application from Gary Nimako Marfo, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Director of Legal Affairs, asking for the petition to be thrown out.

‎The NDC’s parliamentary candidate, Fummey Selorm Philibert, had taken the case to court, arguing that the Electoral Commission wrongly declared Annoh-Dompreh as the winner. He wanted the results canceled.

‎However, the court ruled in favour of Mr Annoh-Dompreh on Thursday, April 10, and ordered the NDC petitioner to pay GH₵25,000 as legal costs.
