An articulated truck with registration number GX 3443 – 21 believed to be coming from Togo moving towards Kumasi has been involved in an accident at Bribrong LPG filling station at Koforidua Magazine junction in the New Juaben South Municipality of the Eastern Region , at around 7:20 am yesterday.

The truck is believed to be transporting beans, rice, maize, sugar and second-hand clothes.

The truck trying to bend a sharp curve in a slow speed to avoid the mud fell on an empty passenger’s vehicle with a registration number ER 792-X parked at the filling station, however, no casualty was recorded.

Some of the road users are of the view that the accident was as a result of the wet clay being used in the construction process of the road and also attributed the accident to the delay in completing the road.

An Eyewitness at the scene, Alex Efum noted that the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana National Fire Service were present at the scene in their numbers to protect life and property.

He mentioned that the security agencies with support from other agencies managed to lift the truck from the passenger’s vehicle.
