The Etherean Mission and Conscious Humanity, a non-profit organisation, has held this year’s Planetary Liberation Day, PLD, in Accra.
The theme for this year’s event; “Interfaith Collaboration for Peaceful Elections, brought together representatives from the two main political parties, the National Democratic Congress NDC and the New Patriotic Party NPP.”
Also present at the open dialogue were faith base organisations such as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint, Brotherhood of the Star and Cross, Ahmadiyya Mission, Harikhrisna Movement, Center for Spiritual Awareness among other faith groups.
Director of Concious Humanity, Rev Josephine Kafui Tetteh said the world will know and enjoy peace if people understand one another and value the unique challenges of every individual.
She said as the country prepares to go the the polls to elect leaders on December 7, it is important and incumbent on every Ghanaian to guard the country’s peace with jealousy since anything contrary has the potential to disrupt the enviable peace and harmony the country is touted for.
Solitary messages of peace from the speakers were all geared towards peace before, during, and after the elections with parties present at the meeting pledging to play their part to ensure peace.
The peak of the meeting was when Leader and Founder of the Etherean Mission, Brother Dr Ishmeal Tetteh, reminded the gathering, especially politicians of the urgent need to protect the peace. Brother, Dr. Tetteh said the desire for power and authority coupled with material possessions, particularly money, will be in vein when it does not impact the lives of the people politicians serve.
He reminded everyone of the need to remember God as the ultimate giver of life and that without him and his mercies, no man can prevail.
The four hour event showcased the love among various religions and the beauty of socialisation in a bid to spread love and peace.
