Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has lauded a significant Ghanaian investment in Nigeria as a powerful demonstration of the nation’s entrepreneurial spirit. During a working visit to Abuja, the Minister toured the impressive 501-hectare River Park Estate, a project spearheaded by Jonah Capital—owned by renowned Ghanaian business magnate “Uncle” Sam Jonah—in partnership with Mobus/Houses of Africa.
Minister Ablakwa, emphasizing the government’s renewed focus on Economic Diplomacy, described the estate as an “enduring symbol of Ghanaian enterprise.” He expressed admiration for the scale and ambition of the project, which represents a substantial Ghanaian economic footprint in the West African giant.

Acknowledging the potential challenges that come with expansion into a new market, the Minister assured that Ghana’s diplomatic mission in Abuja has been directed to provide comprehensive support to the venture under the government’s Economic Diplomacy Blueprint. This commitment underscores President Mahama’s administration’s dedication to actively assisting Ghanaian businesses and brands in their international endeavours, aiming to bolster the nation’s economic presence globally.
The Foreign Affairs Minister expressed gratitude to the CEO of Mobus/Houses of Africa, Kojo Ansah Mensah, and his team for their warm hospitality during the tour. He reiterated the government’s commitment to being a facilitator for Ghanaian businesses seeking to expand beyond their borders.
“President Mahama’s government shall be deliberate in extending diplomatic assistance to all Ghanaian businesses and brands as we seek to increase our economic footprints across the world,” Minister Ablakwa stated.

In a call to action, the Foreign Minister urged Ghanaian businesses—particularly young entrepreneurs—to leverage the available Economic Diplomacy tools to establish their presence internationally.
“Your Foreign Ministry is always ready to facilitate and help make your vision a reality. Let’s create more Ghanaian international brands,” Mr Ablakwa encouraged.
This visit and the Minister’s strong pronouncements signal a proactive approach by the Ghanaian government to leverage its diplomatic network to foster economic growth and promote Ghanaian businesses on the global stage. The River Park Estate serves as a tangible example of the potential for Ghanaian ingenuity and investment to make a significant impact beyond national borders.
