The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has officially declared former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta wanted as a suspect in four major corruption investigations. These include cases related to the National Cathedral project, Strategic Mobilization Limited (SML), and two other undisclosed matters.

At a press conference today, Wednesday February 12, 2025, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng announced that the former Finance Minister is now wanted and must return to Ghana immediately for questioning. He warned that if the former minister fails to comply, legal steps will be taken to force his return.

Agyebeng dismissed reports that Mr. Ofori-Atta had left the country for medical reasons, insisting that he must cooperate with the investigation.

The Special Prosecutor also denied claims that OSP officials raided Ofori-Atta’s home on Tuesday, February 11. Instead, he accused the former minister of staging the raid himself to mislead the public and undermine the investigation.

This latest action by the OSP is seen as a major step in the fight against corruption, as the office continues its efforts to hold public officials accountable for alleged financial misconduct.
