The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation and the World Bank, has launched the Ghana National Landscape Forum in Accra.
The three-day event, held at the Marriott Hotel from April 2-4, 2025, convenes key stakeholders to discuss sustainable natural resource management as a driver of inclusive economic growth.
Participants include government officials, development partners, civil society organizations, and private sector representatives.

The forum comes at a critical time as Ghana faces mounting environmental challenges such as deforestation, land degradation, and pollution.
Discussions will focus on climate-smart cocoa production, forest governance, pollution management, and community-led conservation initiatives.
The official launch of Ghana’s National Capital Accounts, a tool for integrating ecosystem value into decision-making—will also take place during the event. These efforts aim to align national policies with global sustainability goals while fostering economic opportunities.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Alhaji Sulemana Yusif, underscored the government’s commitment to combating illegal mining and restoring degraded landscapes.

He highlighted initiatives such as the Blue Water Initiative to protect water bodies and the Tree for Life Reforestation Initiative aimed at afforestation.
Alhaji Yusif called on participants to generate actionable solutions that will safeguard Ghana’s natural resources for future generations.
