The Ghana U-16 Women’s National Team has touched down in Malta ahead of the UEFA International Development Tournament, scheduled to take place from March 3-9, 2025. The team, comprising 20 players and seven officials, departed Ghana on Sunday, March 2, 2025 and arrived in Malta on Monday, March 3, 2025 ready to take on the best in the four-nation tournament.

The team’s participation in the tournament is part of efforts to prioritize youth development in the country. The U-16 Women’s Team held its first training session on Monday, March 3, in preparation for their opening match against host country Malta on Tuesday, March 4, at the Centenary Stadium. The team will also face Ireland on Thursday, March 6, and Latvia on Saturday, March 9.

Led by Coach Nana Adarkwa, the team is poised to make a mark and gain invaluable experience as they compete against top-notch teams. Coach Adarkwa is preparing the team to become the next formidable Women’s U-17 Team, ready to take on competitive assignments starting in the last quarter of the year.
The UEFA International Development Tournament provides a platform for the team to showcase their skills and talent, while also learning from their counterparts from Latvia, Malta, and Ireland. The tournament is a crucial step in the team’s development, and Ghanaian football fans will be eagerly following their progress.
