Government and Organised Labour will today meet at the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations to possibly conclude negotiations for an upward adjustment in the base pay for sector workers.

Organised Labour made a proposal of 75.1% to government taken into consideration the current economic situation. The Government team also made a counter proposal of 10 percent.

The Government team later moved to 12 percent. Labour also moved from 75.1 to 73%.

By way of showing good faith, Organised Labour moved from 73 to 60 percent. The Government team also moved from 12 to 15 percent which was totally rejected by Organised Labour.
