IMF team arrives in Ghana for deliberations on fourth tranche

A team from the International Monetary Fund,  IMF are in Ghana for discussions on the third review for approval of the fourth tranche of the IMF loan. 

The Minister of Finance, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam disclosed last month that the review will enable the Board to immediately disburse the fourth tranche of 360 million dollars bringing the total disbursements to US$1.92 billion.

He said  government successfully concluded the second review of the programme on June 28, 2024 with strong endorsement of Ghana’s programme by all the IMF Executive Directors.

Dr Adam explained that the third review has been programmed for a staff mission from September 24 to October 4, 2024, to among others assess the performance of the country in relation to the performance targets agreed with the Fund under the programme.

The review will assess the Six (6) Quantitative Performance Criteria (QPCs), Four (4) Indicative Targets (ITs), and a number of Structural Benchmarks (SBs) that ended June 2024 and those due before the Board date for the 3rd review.
