Executive Director of the Africa Center for Parliamentary Affairs, Dr. Rasheed Draman has called on the Leadership of Parliament to institute a benchmark to measure performance of staff of the Parliamentary Service to assess their output.
The call comes after the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin complained about how some Parliamentary Service Staff earn salaries for no work done.
Dr. Draman is of the view that a performance measurement standard will also ensure that staff work to earn their salary.
Meanwhile, a Labour Expert Seth Abloso said, there are serious inequalities inremuneration between staff of the Service and MPs which the Speaker needs to address.
He said though the situation where staff do not earn their salaries is unacceptable warning that, the inequalities can equally be the reason for apathy towards work.
