Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has made a passionate appeal to Ghanaians to throw their weight behind the Black Stars as they prepare to face Chad and Madagascar in their 2026 World Cup qualification games. Mr Kofi Adams made this call during the Black Stars’ first training session on Monday, March 17, 2025, emphasizing the importance of unity and support in achieving their goal.
“For a qualification, I need it just like any other person,” Adams stressed. “Qualification is like the air that we are breathing. That’s how bad I need it.”
He expressed his commitment to ensuring everything is in place for the team’s success, highlighting his regular attendance at the training sessions. “I need it just as any other person needs it. Just as you, the media, need it. Just as Ghanaians out there need it,” he added.
Adams also sought to boost the team’s morale, telling the players that they are the best on the African continent. “So they should know that they are good and they must get out there to show that goodness on the pitch of play,” he encouraged. With the team’s fate hanging in the balance, Adams’ rallying cry is a timely reminder of the importance of national unity and support.
The Black Stars will face Chad in their first World Cup qualifier, followed by a clash with Madagascar. These matches are crucial in determining Ghana’s chances of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup. As the team prepares to take on these challenges, Adams’ call to action serves as a reminder that the entire nation is behind them.
