MTN Ghana presents gifts to ‘Christmas Babies’ and their mothers – Upper West

In keeping with its corporate social responsibility, MTN Ghana has presented a Christmas package to mothers who gave birth on the 25th and 26th of December 2024 at the Wa Municipal Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Jirapa in the Upper West Region.

A team of MTN Staff led by the Upper West Regional Manager of the Telecommunication Network, Seth Owusu Nyamekye, gave the package, which consisted of 30 hampers, to the lucky mothers and their babies at the two health facilities.

Fifteen (15) hampers were distributed in the lying-in-wards of each of the two Hospitals. Some of the items in the gift packs were toys, baby powder, cream, soap, diapers, detol and cot sheets.

Mr Owusu Nyamekye observed that the donation is an annual activity of MTN across the country aimed at giving back to society in tandem with its corporate citizenship.

A Senior Midwifery Officer (SMO) in charge of the lying-in ward of the Wa Municipal Hospital, Ms. Lucy Nere expressed appreciation to MTN for reaching out to patients at the hospital this Yuletide and wished MTN well in its operations.

Ms. Nere also entreated other public-spirited individuals and organizations to emulate MTN Ghana’s gesture. Ten caesarean sections were carried out at the Wa Municipal Hospital between 24th and 25th December, 2024.

Five (5) of the babies delivered through the procedure (C-section) were females with the remaining five (5) being males. There were six (6) normal deliveries, made up of five (5) males and a female.
