Parliament has approved GHC149 million for the Office of the Special Prosecutor, OSP, for its operations for next year.
During the consideration of the report of the Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee Report on the OSP’s Budget, Deputy Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, encouraged the Office to execute its mandate of fighting corruption.
He said corruption works beyond the political class and so the OSP must cast its net wide in the fight. First Deputy Minority Chief Whip, Ahmed Ibrahim, gave thumbs up to the OSP for work done so far.
He said though the Office is a young one, it has chalked up much success albeit with little resources.
