The Ministry of Health (MOH), is in a crunch meeting with the leadership of Physician assistants across the country to try and stop the physicians from continuing a strike.

The physicians began a partial strike over an amendment to the Health Professions and Regulatory Bill, 2023.

According to the physicians, they were tricked into believing amendments to the Bill had not been confirmed, only to intercept a purported amendment Bill.

The physicians say the amended Bill will reduce their work to nothing and impose medical doctors on them.

General Secretary of the Ghana Physician Assistants Association, Joel Paddy, said in an interview with GBC News that they expect government to do the needful.
