The Tema collection point of the Ghana Revenue Authority, GRA is the largest customs Revenue point in the country.
It accounts for nearly 80 per cent of customs Revenue and 30 per cent of total GRA revenue in the country.
In 2023, the Tema collection point exceeded its target by eight-point-85 percent and in 2024 exceeded the revenue target of over 36-point-eight billion Ghana Cedis by eight-point-64 percent.
Speaking at a pull-out parade in her honor, the outgoing Sector Commander, Assistant Commissioner, Mrs. Christiana Odi Adjei said she took over at a time when Ghana was just coming out from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. At that point, she noted that import had slowed down and revenue collection was challenging. She however noted that the Tema collection through hardwork and collective efforts, exceeded the 2023 target and again exceeded the 2024 target.
Mrs. Odi Adjei attributed the successes chalked to effective team work and professionalism at the collection point.
The Commissioner of Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, Brigadier General Zibrim Ayorrogo congratulated Mrs. Christiana Odi Adjei for excelling at the Tema collection point as the first female sector commander.
Brigadier General Ayorrogo tasked the incoming commander and the entire staff the Customs Division GRA to work hard to exceed revenue target for the year 2025 saying the economic situation in the country now requires that Customs leave up to expectations and increase its revenue mobilisation for the country’s development.
The baton of leadership has been handed to another female Assistant Commissioner Theresa Potakey. AS Potakey in a message pledged to continue in the stead of her predecessors and achieve the targets set.
