The Vice Chancellor of the Presbyterian University Ghana, PUG, Professor John Ofosu-Anim has urged tertiary students to strive for excellence, embrace critical thinking and develop solutions that will impact society positively in their academic pursuits.
He noted that whether one is pursuing science, technology or business, there is the need to strive for excellence. The Vice Chancellor hinted that the world is evolving rapidly and in order for one to succeed in such a dynamic and rapidly changing society, it requires a strong foundation of knowledge, ethics and adaptability.
Professor Ofosu-Anim was speaking during the 22nd Matriculation Ceremony for fresh students of PUG Akuapem and Tema Campuses of the 2024/2025 Academic Year at the Akuapem Campus in the Akuapem North District of the Eastern Region.



He reiterated that university is not just about attending classes and earning grades rather it is about engaging in a holistic journey of self-discovery, personal development and intellectual exploration.
Professor Ofosu-Anim encouraged the fresh students to participate in extra-curricular activities and network with their fellows which will help shape the outlook of their life and their role in society.
The matriculation saw 41 students from the Faculty of Development Studies, five from the Faculty of Education from the Akuapem Campus and 128 from the School of Business from the Tema Campus.
