Government has committed not to delay in paying beneficiaries of the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty, LEAP Programme.
The assurance follows delays in disbursement for two payment cycles, prompting some Civil Society Organization’s to express concern about the impact of the delays on vulnerable households.
At a news conference, the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dakoa Newman, indicated that a reassessment is currently ongoing to ensure adequate disbursement to beneficiaries of the programme.
