Two former students of Achimota School identified as Davida Asante Boateng and Lilian Akorli, lost their lives following a tragic accident on the Achimota Highway on March 7, 2025.
According to a statement from the Old Achimotan Association (OAA24), the two, both members of Stopford House, were on their way back to the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), after attending the Annual Bonfire Celebration at their alma mater. Around 11:30 p.m., while crossing the highway, they were struck by a speeding vehicle whose driver failed to stop.
Passersby and good Samaritans rushed the victims to the hospital. Unfortunately, Davida succumbed to her injuries around 4:00am on March 8, while Lilian, despite fighting for her life, also passed away later that morning.
The OAA24 has extended its condolences to the families of the deceased and pledged to provide support in these difficult times.
Authorities are expected to investigate the incident as the Achimota community mourns the tragic loss of two of its own.
May their souls rest in peace.
