The Volta Regional House of Chiefs has inducted 10 Paramount Chiefs as members. The newly inducted members are Paramount Chiefs of various traditional areas from across the region who have met all legal and regulatory requirements and have been duly gazetted in the National Gazette of Chiefs.
The meeting was the first for members of the house for the year. Members of the house took turns welcoming the new entrants into the Regional House of Chiefs and offered some encouragement and advice.
The new members took Oaths of Membership, Secrecy and Judiciary which were administered by the Ho High Court Judge, Justice Owuahene Acheampong.
The new members include Togbega Sei II of Botoku Traditional Area, Togbega Azavuuvu IV of Awate, Togbui Dzoku V of Dzodze, Togbega Gabusu VII of Gbi, and Togbi Adogo Agbalekpor IV of Hevi. The rest are Togbi Ahiabor Gamor VI of Havi, Togbe Nyaho Tamaklo IV of Kome-Shime, Togbiga Adamah III of Somey, Togbi Dzidenu Zoglo of Dzadzefe, and Togbiga Akpo Ashiakpor of the Wheta traditional area.
The President of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs Togbe Tepre Hodo, said the house now has a total of 100 members, making it one of the largest in the country. He called for all hands on deck to partner with government to develop the region.
“I only hope and pray that we all cooperate, contribute, and grow the Regional House of Chiefs and by extension, the whole nation, the Volta region, and the country at large,” he said.
The new members took turns sharing their joyous occasion and assured the house of their commitments to helping develop the region and, by extension, the country.
