10,000 rural farmers to benefit from €2 million agricultural enhancement project

The European Union has provided a grant of £ €2 million to support an initiative known as Research for Development and Innovation Agriculture and Learning code-named ReDIAL, towards improving soil fertility and modernizing agricultural production in five municipalities within the transition and savanna belts of Ghana.

At the launch at Akyawkrom in the Ejisu Municipality of Ashanti, the Project Lead, Donkris Mevuta disclosed that out of the 10,000 rural farmers targeted to directly benefit from the four-year project, 6,000 are women and this move is towards the attainment of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals on women empowerment and poverty alleviation.
