The Bole Bamboi District Police Command has arrested 2 suspected armed robbers at Maluwe at Bole in the Savannah Region.
The suspected robbers are Dauda Appiah, 43 and Yussif Abdallah, 25. The police retrieved an empty shell of G3 ammunition, a single barrel gun and a cutlass after a search was conducted in the suspect’s room.
Confirming the arrest to GBC News, the Savannah Regional Police PRO, Supt. Adjekum Owusu said the Bole Police Patrol team was assisted by a complainant, Kuualong Donirima together with one Mahama Sumanu Sofo, a member of Community Watch to arrest the suspects on Monday, August 30, 2021.
According to him, on Sunday, August 29, 2021 the complainant Kuualong Donirima, lodged a complaint that the 2 suspects together with 2 others robbed him of his Gold Detecting Machine at a gunpoint at Telekura.
However, on August 30, 2021, the suspects were spotted with the machine and were subsequently arrested. The 2 others escaped and are at large.
Meanwhile, items retrieved from the suspects’ room have been detained as exhibits. Plans are underway to process the suspects to court after investigations.
