Twenty companies and ten individuals have been honoured for their contribution to the development of the oil and gas industry in Ghana.
This was at the 7th edition of the Ghana Oil and Gas awards in Accra.
Juwel Energy was adjudged the overall best downstream Oil and Gas company of the year with the upstream winner going to Telnip FMC Ghana Limited.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications, Ken Ashigbey expressed the need to celebrate excellence in the sector and develop stronger and vibrant local brands that will dominate in the International Market.
He urged players in the industry to take advantage of the uncertainties as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic to build resilient businesses that would be able to withstand such shocks in the future.
Chief Executive of the Ghana Investment Promotion Center, Yoofi Grant spoke about prospects in the Oil and Gas Sector.
Executive Director of Xodus Communication, organisers of the event, Richard Abbey said, the Oil and Gas Awards is an industry initiated event endorsed by the Ministry of Energy and stakeholders such as the National Petroleum Authority.
Other Award winners include Shirley Tony Kum of Vivo Energy Ghana. She picked the Unseen Hero of the year award, Total Petroleum Ghana, Brand of the year and Marketing Campaign of the year.
The best growing Oil and Gas company award went to Pacific Oil Ghana.
