Some retailers of sachet water have increased the price of a sachet to 30 pesewas instead of the 40 pesewas, announced by their leaders, while others have still not increased the price.
The National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers earlier announced that there will be an increase in the price of sachet water from the current 20 pesewas to 40 pesewas with the price of a 500ml bottled water going up to GH¢1.50 from the current price of a cedi starting December 27, 2021.
GBC News sampled views from consumers and the vendors of sachet water. The sellers say some consumers have started buying at the new price, but many have refused.
