The Second summit on National Adolescent Reproductive Health aimed at exploring sustainable financing for adolescent sexual reproductive health and right beyond donor funding is underway in Accra.
The two-day summit which is jointly organized by the National Population Council, an International NGO Marie Stopes and other stakeholders in population management is being attended by over 360 participants including policy makers, young people, academics and programmers.
A representative of the Ministry of Health, Hamidu Adakurugu, reiterated government’s commitment to funding resources to provide adolescent reproductive health. He hoped the summit would go a long way to help the Ministry achieve its goals.
A population expert at the University of Cape Coast, Professor Kofi Awusabo Asare, entreated the state to make sustainable investment in reproductive health. He also called for a review of sex education in schools.
