Residents of Race Course, a suburb of Sowutuom in the Greater Accra Region, are expressing dismay regarding an acute water problem which has raging for months.

Some residents complain that their taps have not been flowing since January and attempts to get the Ghana Water Company Limited, GWCL, to find out why have proved futile.

Some residents have to travel long distances to get water for their daily needs while those who could afford, rely on tankers whose services cost about 250 Ghana cedis a month.

The residents are calling on the GWCL to explain the long shortage of water in the area and fix the problem as quickly as possible.
